Community Grieves After 2 Livonia Teens Killed In Fiery Crash

PLYMOUTH (WWJ) - A community is grieving after two Livonia teens in a stolen car were killed in a crash this weekend.

At the scene of Saturday night's crash along Plymouth road - west of Haggerty a growing memorial builds for the freshmen from Livonia Churchill High School.

Balloons, a small cross and other mementos are the beginnings of a makeshift memorial in Plymouth.

According to police the two boys were in a stolen Mustang, which first came to the attention of police when several calls into 911 reported a White Ford Mustang with two people inside doing donuts in the parking lot of Garfield Elementary School.

When police tried to pull the car over reportedly it sped off -- after the mustang's headlights were turned off -- police say the pursuit was called off.

The crash took place a mile further just outside the city of Livonia in the city of Plymouth -- crashing into a railing abutment -- bursting into flames.

A message Monday from Livonia Public Schools said: "Our school community is shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of two of our students over the weekend."

A Go Fund Me account for one of the teens, Deqouya, 14, [here] has been set up and as of Monday morning almost reached the halfway point of its intended goal.
