SHELBY TWP. (WWJ) – Police remain on the scene of an accident involving two double bottom gravel haulers in Shelby Township.

According to Shelby Township Police Lt. Jeff Daniel, both truck drivers suffered multiple injuries in the crash, just after noon Tuesday, on Ryan Road south of 22 Mile Road — some of them serious.

One of the drivers had to be extradited from his truck by firefighters. Both were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash or who was at fault.  Police said Ryan Road will remain closed for maybe another hour at the accident sight as the investigation continues.

Anyone who witnessed this incident is asked to call Shelby Township police at 586-731-2121.
