Summer-Like Weather Kicks Off November In Metro Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - The calendar might say November 1, but take a look at the thermometer today and you might think otherwise.

"We're looking at summer-like temperatures today in the low to mid 70s," said CBS 62 Chief Meteorologist Jim Madaus. "It will be mostly cloudy skies, but sunshine will peek through here and there."

The record high temperature for today is 85 degrees, set back in 1950.

Unfortunately, the warm weather won't be sticking around too long. Rain will move into the area Wednesday, along with a cold front that will push through the region by Thursday, says Madaus. By the time the weekend rolls around, temps will warm back up again to the mid to upper 50s.

Here's the local forecast from the CBS Detroit.com weather team:

Tuesday -- Mainly sunny, some clouds. High around 75F. Low 56F.

Wednesday -- Showers early turning into rain overnight; thunder possible. High 63F. Low 52F.

Thursday -- Rain showers early with mostly cloudy conditions later in the day. High 58F. Low 37F.

Friday -- Mostly sunny. High 53F. Low 43F.

Saturday -- Sunshine and some clouds. High 63F. Low 41F.
