Summer is a great time to go to a sports bar because many of them offer outdoor games. If your idea of fun is playing a lawn game over a drink with friends, there are a number of bars in Metropolitan Detroit that offer variety of outdoor activities. Corn hole, horseshoe, wiffle ball or soccer are some of the activities you can find at certain sports bars.Outdoor sports fans can find an enjoyable lawn game to play with friends at many local bars this summer.

Z's Villa is a family-owned bar and restaurant located in a Victorian house on Piquette St. Originally known as Z's Place, located on Woodward Ave., Z's Villa has been a classic Detroit bar for 31 years. The bar provides opportunities to play lawn games like volleyball, cornhole and horseshoes during the summer. The beach volleyball games are played in sand-filled courts, and open to groups or leagues. Z's Villa also offers a unique outdoor game invented by the bar owner called trash can football that involves trash cans, basketballs and footballs. Participation in games is a free courtesy for customers.

Norm's Field of Dreams Sports Bar and Grille is located in Troy, and has a nice selection of beer on tap and liquor. This sports bar has both indoor and outdoor games. The outdoor games include wiffle ball and cornhole. Wiffle ball games start in May, and cornhole games begin in June. The games are offered in league form. Wiffle ball games are performed in four-man and two-man teams. Cornhole games involve two-man teams. You can form your own team or request to be put on a team, if you don't have a partner. In the summer, Stone House Bar offers lawn games like horseshoe and hosts outdoor barbecues in the backyard.
